The Alex Lewis North Atlantic Row Challenge

The ALNAR expedition is poised to make history. This will be the first North Atlantic crossing by a physically disabled person and the first attempt at this formidable route in a 12-person ocean rowing boat.

More about the project...

Start Date: 30th June 2026

Location: St John, Newfoundland

Aim: To create the largest fundraising opportunity for ALFF and Assistive Technology to date

Record Breaking Milestones:

Alex Lewis to become the first physically disabled person to row the North

Atlantic + Alex Lewis to become the first quadruple amputee to row an ocean

This immense challenge is not just about setting world records; it's about demonstrating what becomes possible when determination meets opportunity. This journey represents more than just crossing an ocean; it's about crossing the barriers that define what we believe people can achieve.

This challenging adventure directly supports The Alex Lewis FLOAT Foundation (ALFF), which was founded on Alex's eleven years of experience navigating life as a quadruple amputee.

We understand that the primary obstacles aren't physical—they're the barriers of access, design, and affordability that prevent people from living independently. Whether it's accomplishing daily tasks like brushing your teeth or pursuing extraordinary goals like ocean rowing, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. The ALFF works tirelessly to remove these barriers and create pathways to independence.
